THE DANDRETTA
Rich: It sounds like a dad who’s spent a lot of money on a nice recording just to play his expensive guitar. Playing the blues…
Anthony: It’s not my thing really. It could be my thing but they haven’t pushed it enough. Push harder!
DISSIDENT GENRO
Anthony: Somebody was telling me about a review which Futureheads did of, not our current single, but the last one, which has got a cowbell in it. They said something along the lines of ‘if this lot are from England they should be ashamed of themselves. They just want to be LCD Soundsystem” And we just thought ‘that’s a bit odd, isn’t it?’ So I don’t really think we should knock bands, and looking back I hope we haven’t! Because actually, this one is almost life affirming. I’m reading the press release and it seems that Rimo is doing his - or her - own thing, and that’s all fine with me!
Rich: Look, people have got hobbies haven’t they? (laughs) And I think that’s a good thing. People should have ‘interests’ - I’ve always said it! And this band have got interests - they’re hobbying.
Rich: I thought that was the second best thing I've heard today! It's got very witty vocals... there's a song for example, called 'The Night I Punched Dracula In the face'. Another is called 'And Then I Was A Cat.'
Anthony: I like this one too - The Fancy Dress Party come first, with these guys second.
I have never heard of these
I have never heard of these guys before today. There are always problem children at concerts trying to pick fights with anyone that will give them a dirty look. But someday I would like to see these guys in concert.
