Young enough to get away with it but old enough to know better - Go!Zilla is turning three this July with a bash at its year-long home Cargo. The live element of the parties brings new talent to the table once again with exclusive and exciting live shows from The Emperor Machine and Kelpe.
The Emperor Machine is Andy Meecham, producer extraordinaire and erstwhile member of dance music legends Bizarre Inc., and dub disco aficionados Chicken Lips. Daft Punk, Moby, Royksopp and The Knife have all called on his remixing talents in the past. The Emperor Machine is Andy’s most passionate project that sees his fetishism for analogue synthesisers and radiophonic noise spilling out of his studio and into the world. With over thirteen releases for DC Recordings in less than 5 years it has been a rapid ascendancy to near cult status for The Emperor Machine. 2008 will see the release of a third album and the long anticipated arrival of The Emperor Machine LIVE! This is the second ever London appearance of the live outfit consisting of a three-piece band (drums, bass/guitar, synthesisers) plus live 3d animated visuals based on the spectacular artwork from the album.
Another live talent taking to the stage comes from Kelpe whose second critically-acclaimed LP ‘Ex-aquarium’ was released earlier this year delivering a wondrous blend of dubby electronic landscapes. Chris Walmsley takes his place on drums for a performance that promises to embed Kelpe in the minds of all in attendance. Phoreski also joins Go!Zilla for a rare London DJ performance. With releases on Pete Herbert’s imprint Special Interest and Bare Fist Recordings he is a man of the moment in the world of modern disco.
Helping along the celebrations is Go!Zilla’s co-creator and resident James Priestley. James sees the second secretsundaze compilation released this Summer, is already working on the follow-up and is compiling a series of admired releases on Simple records. Birthdays are a time to share the spirit of good times past and to come so we welcome all to join Go!Zilla in the quest to fuse the best in modern electronic music with a superior setting and passionate crowd.

Best new band in Glasgow, by a mile!
...Any more snooker cliches?
...Second track sounds like a more snarly mid-60s Who. Excellent.
...First one sounds like Sean Ryder having a flashback but second track is a killer.
...once you've drunk a bottle of Maker's Mark in Copehagen?
...The more I watch it, the more I like it.
...Sex on Fire is good once you've drunk a bottle of Maker's Mark in Copenhagen
...If you haven’t heard of GoodBooks by now you haven’t been paying attention. The Kent four-piece have been blowing away crowds across Europe supporting Mystery Jets, The Maccabees and most recently Hot Club De Paris. Tego caught up with Max...
Awesome Make Up / Blues Explosion / Funkadelic style rock n roll soul from Birmingham's best kept secret. Recorded at Matt Verta Ray's NY Hed Studios, this tune has pedigree...
Fantastic rendition of Stones classic by artrocking pioneer Patti Smith, whose voice sounds as good as ever on this track.
...We've cooked up 60 minutes of premium ArtROCK, with the emphasis on the rawk.
...Excellent track from their excellent new (to the UK) album Forts (released this week, expect review here soon).
