Fists of fun

New label Hello Thor is putting out a single release by band Fists. Why? Because they’re a record label "devoted to putting out incredible music by talented artists. It’s not about the next big thing, or being part of a scene, it’s just about knowing that more people should hear these tunes and making that happen". Admirable sentiments, yes indeed.

Fists have an ear for a tune and an apparent enthusiasm for wrecklessly bashing them out with the raw power and spirit they deserve. You can hear quoted influences like Link Wray and Woody Guthrie on the countryish ‘6 to 5 Special’. While other tunes like Skit, the single b-side, show off their more Modern Lovers / VU style indie leanings.

    Just wanted to say I've seen Fists play in Nottingham and they were amazing. If they are anything like as good on record then I'm getting this!
